Creating a web reputation through referrals or netlinking

As we know, the Internet is composed of billions of websites interconnected with each other. All these connections between websites have a specific impact on Google's algorithms, depending on several parameters. For example, a website with a lot of authority that receives a lot of visits will have a greater impact if it refers another website, compared to a website with less authority that receives fewer visits. Google is an algorithm created on the principle of web references. So, the more references a website has to other websites, the more relevant it is in general. Of course, the algorithm has evolved a lot and other parameters have become very important nowadays, such as the experience of the user who enters a website. Google improves its algorithm with thousands of changes every year.

Search engine optimization is not new. It began with the first directories and search engines in 1994. SEO was first focused on engines like Altavista or directories like Yahoo, before focusing on Google and its PageRank algorithm, which quantitatively measures the popularity of a web page. PageRank is only one indicator among others in the algorithm that ranks web pages in Google's search results. This system was invented by Larry Page, co-founder of Google.
